  1. Hi. I am due to fly to Krabi tomorrow. We currently have flights booked back to uk for the 18th of March but are hopefully going to extend these to beginning of April. This would take us over the 30day visa. How much would it be to extend for another 1-2 weeks? How long does it take?

    Thank you

    1. You are able to extend the 30-day stamp for another 30 days at the local immigration office. For the extension, you just have to submit one passport size photo (4cm x 6cm) with white background and pay the fee of 1,900 Thai baht. This is a same-day process.

  2. Hi.
I arrive in Bangkok in 5 days. Do I have to have proof of onward travel? I am backpacking and hoping to extend my 30 day visa to a 60 day visa once I arrive. Is all of this possible when I get there?

    1. Yes, there is a random check at the airport for a proof of onward travel. I suggest for you to book a flight of Thailand within 30 days and you can easily change or rebook the flight if you decided to extend your stay.

After travelling Vietnam and Cambodia we are hoping to come back over to Thailand to the islands. Is it possible to re-enter with another visa and how do I get this approved?

    1. Yes, you are able to re enter Thailand. You can do the same routine as the first trip. You enter and you are given 30 days entry stamp and then you apply for 30 days extension at local immigration office. Please bear in mind that you can just do this routine 2 to 3 times.

I am an Australian who flew into Thailand to spend 28 days in Phuket. Although those 28 days are not over yet, I will need to stay a few more additional days. Definitely less than 14. How difficult is this to arrange? What documents are needed? What is the cost? Thank you!

  15. Hello,
I am a Danish citizen passing over the land border to Thailand. I am going on a planned tour with G-adventure, that takes me through Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore – but all by land. I intend to be in Thailand for ca. 25 days. Because I am entering through a land border, I will only get 15 days, therefore I will need an extension of my visa. I do not possess a flight ticket because I am traveling with G-adventure, but can this be proof enough to receive the extension?
    Thank you! Cheers

I have tourist visa from 12/12/2015 to 12/3/2016 and I enter Thailand on 6/1/2016 and I left on 16/1/2016

I want to enter again from 1/3/2016 to 12/3/2016, is it ok ?

  18. I have planned a vacation trip to Thailand soon.
I have never had any kind of problem in Thailand but for some reasons due to my home country, I believe that I may have been blacklisted. Even if the chances are small I would prefer to check that before my departure. If I ask for a tourist visa at Thai embassy of my country, are they checking the blacklist before issuing the visa? IF I can get the visa can I then be sure that I am not on the blacklist and that I will have no problem at airport custom?

    1. If you will be issued with a tourist visa by the Thai Embassy, then you should be able to enter Thailand. It’s best if you can check with them directly regarding this matter.

  22. We are family 2+2 and we received a 30-day pass on airport. But flights booked out of Thailand after 72 days from Bangkok. Can we go to Cambodia for 2 weeks and then go back? Will we receive new 30-day pass? Can we use bus or airplane for border crossing or it doesn’t matter?

  23. Hi, I recently extended my 30 day visa for another 30 days in the Samui office, (Canadian passport). Im going to Cambodia on the 14th and returning around the 27th. My granted extension doesn’t expire until the 7th of March. Will I require a new visa to re enter? will I just get a new stamp on my passport or what would be the procedure to re enter Thailand after my 3 week visit to Cambodia? My flight home is on March 4th.

PS: Will it be the same procedure by air/land?

    1. When you do a border run after your visa extension has expired, you should still be able to obtain another 30 days entry stamp for Thailand. You may need to show the immigration section at the border checkpoint your return flight ticket to Canada so make sure to bring it with you when you do your exit trip to Cambodia.
