Dear Consultant,
I hold a 2 month tourist visa issued at the Thai Embassy in Vietnam, expiring on December 16.
1. I would like to apply for extension – can this be done at the Phitsanuloke office? Or in Chiang Mai as a second option?
2. Is it possible to ask for an extension longer than 30 days? (understanding that tourist visa can be extended only once).
Many thanks in advance.
Either Phitsanulok or Chiang Mai immigration office, you are able to do the extension. The fee is 1900 baht. It is only 30 days for the extension. If you want to stay longer, you must leave Thailand after the extension, travel to nearby county and apply for a new visa to re-enter Thailand.

Also, would I be required a departure ticket when entering Thailand? Due to the unknown date of departure we have yet to purchase one.
Thank you!

Normally, if you entered on visa exemption, you will receive a 30-day stamp. If the immigration officer did not specify a date on the space which states “Valid Until”, you need to visit an immigration office near your location to have this rectified.
