Furthermore, those who wish to extend their stay may file for an application for a 30-day extension at any immigration offices in Thailand. Visa extension fee is priced at THB1,900.

Dear Sir
I have a travel visa from 28th Oct 15 to 11th Nov 15.
But I met with accident and admitted in hospital.I got the fit to fly certificate and booked my return ticket on 11th Nov.But due to unavoidable circumstance like my Indian Insurance Co not clearing due by 10th nov I may not be released. In such case can my visa be extended for a couple of days and for that what should I do.
Thanks
Joydip DE
Since you had an accident, you should be able to get an extension on the basis of health or medical condition. Please check with the hospital where you’ve been admitted in to verify if they can assist you in applying for the extension. Otherwise, you may visit the immigration office in Thailand to get more information regarding your situation.
Hello,
I am in Chiang Mai and wish to apply for a 30 day Tourist Visa extension. Do I have to wait until the very last day or can I apply for the Visa Extension before the day I am supposed to leave (13th November)? Will that still give me 60 days in Thailand in total?
You may apply for the extension before the expiration of your permitted stay in Thailand. The length of extension issued by the Thai immigration is normally 30 days.
Hi,
Currently I’m in Thailand on sticker visa, and already here for 55 days. I am an Indian national. Can I extend it for 30 days more? Or the immigration will give only 7 days extension?
The number of days or length of the extension given to tourist visa holders with 60-day entry stamp is normally 30 days.
Hi,
I’m in Thailand now on a 30 days tourist visa and I wish to stay longer. I wonder if it’s possible to apply for a double entry tourist visa at immigration office inside Thailand or if I have to leave the country and apply at the Thai embassy or consulate in another country?
Thank you /
You will need to apply for the tourist visa at the Thai Embassy in your home country. Although, there are Thai Embassies in some neighboring countries of Thailand which also accept tourist visa applications from foreigners depending on their nationality.
I’m from Singapore and I’m currently in Thailand, nearing a month. Can I do a cross boarder visa extension at Poipet? Is it a 15 or 30 days extension? Any cheapest way for me to do a visa extension?
Citizens of Singapore are permitted to stay in Thailand for 15 days when they enter the country via land border travel. There are small companies or agencies in Thailand that offers assistance to visa runners. You might want to check with them and compare the cost of their services.
Hi there,
I understand all that I said above but just have a couple small questions. Me and my boyfriend have a tourist visa and entered the country on October 1st we are good for 60 days which I understand but we are here till December 17th our fly out date. So my questions are what office do we go to in bangkok to get the visa extension and is the price different for only a request of 17 day extension, what if your funds are not 20 000 THB when you go there( we have all our money in my account so his account would not have funds), and how long does a request usually take?
Thanks
You will need to visit the immigration office if you wish to apply for an extension. There is no option to extend a tourist visa to a specific number of days other than the usual 30 days extension, and therefore the fee is always the same – THB 1,900. The processing of extension only takes few minutes at the immigration office, and the 20,000 baht personal funds is not required for the application.
Hi,
I have a single entry visa, and will expire this coming Nov. 13, does all the requirements above is really necessary? I just need a 30 days extension because my Company is still processing my Working papers for Non B visa.
If you wish to extend your tourist visa for 30 days, you will just need to provide a passport-size photo, completed application form, your passport and the extension fee of THB 1,900. You can visit any immigration office in Thailand in applying for the extension.
Hello,
There is a lot of talk currently about a new Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) being bought in on the 13th November which will replace the double and triple entry visa’s.
Firstly is this true?
Secondly some are saying that it is only possible to apply for this type of visa from your home nation (ie I’m British and can only apply for it in the UK).
Can you shed any light on this please as some embassies are unsure.
In applying for the new 6-month multiple-entry tourist visa, you will need to be in your country of residence in order to qualify. Although there are countries, particularly in Europe, who have announced that the double-entry and triple entry visas will no longer be offered after November 13, some countries still have not yet confirmed if they will be observing the same regulation. Therefore, we advise that you contact the Thai embassy or consulate in your country to further verify your concern.
Hi,
I extend my visa for 30 days (until 24 October 2015). Is it possible to extend 1 month more (until November 2015)?
Thanks
If you are holding a tourist visa, unfortunately it can only be extended once inside Thailand. If you wish to stay longer in Thailand, you may either apply for a new visa or do a visa run.
Hi I have a multiple entry visa (2 visits) with the first dates starting /ending 25/09 – 23/11/2015. I’m in Phuket. Can I get a 30 extension in Phuket for 1900 Thb? Then in December I would need to leave to get my second 60 days entry visa? Is that how it works? How much does it cost and where do I need to go for second 60 days visa ? Do I need to fly or can I do a visa run bus. I can then extend that visa by another 30 days in Phuket and go home end of March. Is this correct? Sorry but lots of confusing information on the internet. Thank you
You can apply for tourist visa extension at the immigration office in Phuket. If you wish to use your second entry, you will need to exit and re-enter Thailand.
Hello,
can I get an extention for just 4 days?
I plan to enter Thailand on the 1st from cambodia border hat lek (uk passport) and my flight leaves bangkok on the 4th December.
I thought I have 2 options,
first to go to Malaysia and return after 2 weeks, but dont know if I will get 30 days when I come back or if its allowed
second to extend for 4-5 days to cover the time past 30 days.
could you please advise me what is best in line with visa rules.
Thank you consultant for your dedicated responses, in advance I thank you also for the time you will give to reply to me.
best wishes
Since you are holding a UK passport, you will be allowed to stay in Thailand for up to 30 days at a time when you enter the country without a visa. This is provided that you are travelling to Thailand for tourism purpose only.
Hello,
I have until September 26th to extend my tourism visa, but I am now a student amd would like to change my visa to a student visa. What would be the easiest and quickest way to do this?
-thank you.
Changing your visa from tourist to ED or student visa will require you to make an exit trip from Thailand. Please contact your school regarding the ED visa application process.
Please Lawyer,if am Overstay in a different but have cleared and want to enter Tailand. Will immigration allow me ?
Thank you
Usually, those who have overstayed are still allowed re-enter the country unless you have been previously blacklisted from making to trip to Thailand.

Tourist visa can be extended for 30 days, for one time only, at the immigration office inside Thailand.

Hello I entered Thailand 13th July and had already got a 60 day visa in my passport from England and it got stamped used. I left Thailand a week later to go to Laos and re entered Thailand the following week and got a new 30 day stamp. Is the 60 day visa now invalid? As I need to stay in Thailand longer, would I be able to get a new 60 day visa at the immigration? Thank you
When you left Thailand and wen to Laos, the 60-day tourist visa entry stamp has been canceled. That is the reason why you only got 30 days on your last entry. Yes, you can get a new 60-day visa. You can go to any Thai embassy or consulate abroad (not in Thailand) and apply for a new tourist visa.
Hi. I just wanted to know if it will cause problems if I overstayed in the country for 40 minutes. Because my tourist visa ends on August 7 and I was planning to book a flight on August 8. 12:40am so basically there will be exceeding 40 minutes. Please advise.
An overstay of 40 minutes should not cause a big problem. However, you will be required to pay the overstay fine of 500 baht and might still be given a stamp on your passport indicating the overstay. As a recommendation, confirm with your airline if you can do a check-in at an earlier time (i.e., anytime before 12:00 AM of August 8).
I have a 30-day on-arrival Tourist visa. I would like to extend my Visa for another 30 days. I will be in Mae Sot next week. Can I do a visa extension at Immigration or do I have to cross the border into Mywaddy, Myanmar and then re-enter Thailand?
You can apply for a 30 days extension at the immigration office in Thailand. However, there are immigration offices which might only issue 7 days extension. As an option for you to stay longer in Thailand, you may do a border run at a neighboring country. Citizens of some countries are eligible to get 15 days entry stamp to Thailand at any border crossing. For more information, you may check the website below:

Hi
Im Filipino and I have American husband just run to the boarder and applied for Tourist Visa and the Thai Embassy told me. She only allow me to get 2 months next time I have to go back to my country to Apply. My question: is there any options to get visa without going home? Please help me. Thank you I really love Bangkok.
Thanks
Hilaria
There are agencies in Bangkok which offer services for assistance with Tourist visa applications in neighboring countries such as Laos and Malaysia. Also, another option that you might want to consider is enrolling in a Thai school. Foreigners who are taking a short course or study in many schools in Thailand are eligible to apply for an ED visa. To know more information about ED visa requirements and processing, we suggest that you directly contact your preferred Thai school.
I am Arnold age pensioner and wish to visit Thailand for 60 days. Do I have to apply for a visa before I go? Thank you.
If you wish to stay in Thailand for 60 days for the purpose of tourism, you may apply for a tourist visa at the Thai Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence. Tourist visa must be applied for before coming to Thailand.
Buon giorno, Signor Robert,

I came to Bangkok on 10-01-2015 from London UK and was given tourist visa for 30 days until 8-2-2015. (Departure card no CN09709) ( I am a retired 60 year old man.)
1. If I travel to Malaysia only before 8-2-2015 and return to Bangkok on 28-2-2015 to have return flight to London on 1-3-2015, Would I require Re-entry permit for 1 day ?
Many Thanks
Kadir Vankalwala
Yes, you would be required to apply for a re-entry permit to avoid cancellation of your visa.
You may have received an exemption stamp in your passport for 30 days. Don’t confuse this with a tourist visa. A tourist visa would have been issued by your consulate in the UK and for 60 days, not 30.
If you leave to Malaysia and come back in or 1 day with a UK passport, you will receive another 30 day exemption stamp.
I need visat visa for bankok
We advise that you contact the Thai Embassy in your country. They should be able to give you information on the visa requirements, fees and processes.
