  1. Hi there, I’m a Canadian national and received a 30 day visa on arrival to Bangkok on March 28,16, but my total trip length is 37 days. Is there any cheaper option to extend by only 7 days or will I have to pay the 1900baht? And if I was to do a visa run to Laos does that extend by 7 or 15 days?

    1. Doing a border run to a neighboring country which will entitle you to another 30 days visa-free entry to Thailand would be cheaper than applying for an extension at the Immigration Office.

    1. No, tourist visa can only be extended for up to 30 days. You may check with the Immigration Office for other option if in case you see the utmost necessity to stay in Thailand for an extended period.

  5. I have a Multiple-entry Non-Immigrant ‘O’ Visa valid until the end of 2016. Currently on a 90 day stay but would like to extend for an additional 5 or 6 days.
Is it possible to do this at Phuket Immigration?

If Yes – Do I need to change the return flight before or after getting the extension?

    1. Yes, you can apply for 7 days extension at the local immigration office in Phuket town. You can do it on the last day of your 90-day entry stamp. If it falls on a weekend, you have to do it on the Friday before the expiry date. You can re-book your flight even before you apply for the extension.

    1. The ED visa that you hold right now can only be extended for 7 days in Thailand. If you wish to stay 30 days more, you have to leave Thailand on April 24th and you re-enter through international airport if you qualify for the Visa Exemption stamp.

    1. If you are on a 30-day entry visa right now, you are able to extend this 30-day visa exemption stamp for another 7 days or 30 days at the local immigration office. For the extension, you just have to submit one passport size photo (4cm x 6cm) with white background and pay the fee of 1,900 Thai baht.

  9. From the previous answers i read that you can not extend a 14 days visa if you arrive over land. On another website I read this: If you have a standard 14 day or 30 day visa (one you got on arrival by land or air into Thailand), then you can extend your visa for a maximum of 7 days only. It costs 1900 baht ($60).
Does this mean you can extend for 7 days or is this wrong information.
It is needed for a cambodian citizen.

    1. The 7-day extension is possible to those under the Visa Exemption Rule, for the Cambodians, they are not under the VER therefore, they are not able to extend for 7 days. If you are Swedish for example and you got 15 days at the border, you are able to extend it for 7 days and you pay 1900 baht.

    1. As a U.S. citizen, you will get 30 days at the land border. It is still free of charge. You are able to extend this 30-day stamp for another 30 days at the local immigration office.
